Buxton Crescent and Thermal Spa

With the new Ensana Hotel and Health Spa and the associated Visitor Experience both opening their doors last October, the end of a three-decade saga to bring Buxton’s Grade 1 listed Crescent back into active use has now finally been reached. Richard Tuffrey MBE, Advisor to the Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust and former Conservation Officer for High Peak Borough Council, looks back on the history of this project and explains why he thinks that the end result was worth waiting for.
